Obituary

Bobby Earl London of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the age of 83. After several years of dementia and declining health, Bobby passed peacefully with his wife and children by his side.

Bobby was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 12, 1939 to father Marcus Nado London and mother, Lela Pearl Glenn, who moved their family to Jacksonville when Bobby was a child. Bobby was the oldest of six children. Bobby attended Arlington Elementary, Southside Grammar, and graduated from duPont High School in 1957. He attended Jacksonville University as a trombone major before joining the Army Reserves in January 1961, where he served for six years before receiving an honorable discharge. Bobby spent the majority of his career as an employee of the Times Union, serving more than thirty years as a carrier and a supervisor in the circulation department. Bobby was a member of Crossroad Church.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean London; his daughter and her family, Melissa and Anthony Aiuppy, and children Blaise, Soren, and Bijou; his son Eric London; his step-daughter and her family, Cathy and Justin Smith, and children Shayne, Sebastian, and Julianna; his step-son and his family, Chris and Shirley Teasley, and daughters Evie and Sophie; and his siblings, Joan, Janet, Benny, Lisa, and Larry, and their families.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Riverside Ave. Christian Church at 2841 Riverside Ave. in Jacksonville, FL. All are invited to attend. Anyone wishing to share memories during this service are welcome to do so at the designated time during the service.
