Obituary for William David Evans

William David Evans, Dave as he was affectionally known, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the age of 82, of natural causes. He was the second son of Glenn M. Evans and Annie Mae Evans. He lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dave was a 1958 graduate of DuPont High School and went onto graduate from Jacksonville University. He also was a member of the Air National Guard. Dave worked at State Farm Insurance over 35 years and retired in 2003 to travel with the love of his life, Sharon Evans. They were married almost 48 years.

Dave loved his family with his whole heart. He also loved all things chocolate, Sweetarts, cherry pies, ice-cream and bubble gum. If it contained sugar, it was likely in a plastic baggie next to his chair. He enjoyed sailing, lifting weights, and loved being with his family. He enjoyed watching baseball, football, racing and tennis. Dave was a man of integrity and faith, a wonderful son, husband and father who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his dedicated wife, Sharon Evans, he leaves behind a brother, Glenn M. Evans Jr., of Richmond, VA, and two children: Stephanie Ann Corbett, (Bobby) and Stephen David Evans, (Lesly), Jacksonville, FL. He also leaves three grandchildren who loved their Gramps, Erin, Garrett and David and a granddog, Cooper.
