In Memory

Cecil Jackson - Class Of 1958

Cecil passed away as the result of pancreatic cancer. We lost him way too soon.

Cecil was a great friend and in a lot of my classes, he had a great sense of humor!! Sooo sorry to hear of his passing, may God bless and welcome him home.

I remember Cecil as the one that Jane loved...even when they "broke up" for a short time after high school. They visited Jery and I at our first time and Jane was borrified that I served them instant coffee made from the hot water from our hot water tap. I don't know how Cecil felt about it but he didn't complain.

Cecil was a really nice person and a good sense of humor. We had a lot of laughs sharing lunch in the cafeteria.

Through the years I saw Cecil a number of times. He and Jane stayed  with us in New Orleans. They were on their way to Texas for his Army basic training. Needless to say, we visited Bourbon Street in the French Quarter (as I recall we bought a few items).

Cecil was kind and well liked by friends and those who worked for him.

Too long have I seen Cecil's name go without a comment. Cecil and I grew up together. His father was the pastor of our church (Southside Presbyterian). Cecil and I were best friends and together, we, and his brother Lewis, caused enough problems to bring his mom and dad down on our heads often. I remember when Cecil first met Jane and how their love grew. I kinda felt left out at times <g>.

I was sad when Jane told me of Cecil's passing. He was a gentle person and a great friend. Rest well my friend I miss you.

Paul
