Sidney Jackson - Class Of 1958

SIDNEY LEE JACKSON, Jr, 71, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away on Saturday May 28th, 2011. He was a Retired Veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was predeceased by his father, Sidney L. Jackson, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lojois Knight Jackson; his mother, Laurice Earnheart Jackson; brother, Charles G. Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sid was born February 24, 1940, in Chico, California, but grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Tech and a Master's degree in Industrial Management from Oklahoma State. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Major after 20 years of service. After retiring he worked many years in the Atlanta area managing commercial property. Sid was an accomplished pianist and had a passion for music. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Tuesday. May 31st, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Byars Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Atlanta Parkinson Disease Association at www.apdageorgia.org.
